ANSWER - Turgunoy Egamberideva, head of the Gender Equality Research Center at Fergana State University:

In collaboration with the ministry of education and the presidential administration, Fergana State University contributes to the special fund for female applicants to receive tuition waiver in their graduate degree. It aims to guarantee 100% tuition waiver for female students, understanding the mere fact that females need further financial assistence and motivation to continue their tertiary education. The university clearly communicates and ensures a smooth orientation program for female applicants in subjecs where they are underrepresented. Throughout the year, “Gender equality research center”, together with local NGOs, organizes meetings for local women who show willingness to study at our university. During those meetings, we emphasize the importance of diversifying skills and knowledge in women, especially targeting those subjects that historically proven to be male-dominant.
